More of Girl's Generation in Japan

One of my favorite albums of a k-pop artist belongs to SNSD, but it's not actually a k-pop album but a j-pop album.  Their first Japanese album is on a whole other level compared to any of their Korean work and I love it. This is why I was excited to hear the new song SNSD would be promoting in Japan and was not disappointed.

"Paparazzi" is a good song with an awesome choreography,and I get to hear a lot of Seohyun. It always makes me happier when that is the case, her voice is my favorite in the group and gets better everyday. I also like that the distribution of lyrics is a little better than some other songs SNSD has promoted lately, specially toward Yuri who sometimes fades out.  The dance is awesome, and although their second outfits (black) are kinda strange they still look great.

CHALLENGE3: DAY 17: A List of Your Top Five Girl Groups

I have to say I do listen to many girl groups, but the feeling is very different from the boy groups I follow. For girl groups, I do not get attached. I may like their music but I might not know the names of their members. As well as skip an article regarding a certain member on a news cite, without much care. There is a lack of attachment present. The only girl group that I have comes close to forming an attachment is Miss A, and even then I have not mustered the idea of having a bias.

I hate ow their MV's usually ruin songs. The MV's must be funny but all those special effects just make the song awkward, and not very pleasing to the ears.

CHALLENGE3: DAY 13: Your bias in SNSD: Seohyun

SEOHYUN

Seohyun is my all time female bias, and I think she is awesome

I've already mentioned this in my previous challenge but she is just to awesome to pass ^.^

Seo is the all rounder of SNSD, she is a good dancer and singer, and she gets better with every come back. Many people are not very fond of her because she seems cold and a goody two shoes but in y opinion, that is her charm. On stage she may seem robotic, but I think she is improving a lot and becoming more charismatic. I was really loving her even more is TaeSiTeo's Twinkle MV because she really seemed to be in  her element.

Top 20: Girl Group Songs

Personally I listen to a lot of girl groups, although I do follow guy groups much more. When I saw a list on a blog I was reading I decided to make my own list of top 20 girl group songs. I hope that trough this list the people who only listen to guy groups can find a group or at least a song they really like, and give girl groups a chance.

P.S.This time around I purposely omitted collaborations, solo singers, songs in Japanese, songs in English, and duets, although there are many I like.

SNSD - Time Machine

SNSD in Japan is a whole different thing form SNSD in Korea. I have to say I'm a fan of their Japanese work over songs produced in Korea, because everything just seems more polished.

"Time Machine" is a song in SNSD's repackage album of their first Japanese album. The PV was released today, and I'm glad to see it is of a better quality that Mr. Taxi and that the girls are finally out of their box again.

CHALLENGE2: DAY 16: Your favorite k-pop lyric (and a translation)

After starting this challenge It's become more evident how wishy washy I am in terms of favorites. I can never pick my favorite anything apart form favorite groups :P

For this day I will be choosing two songs I really like that have beautiful and powerful lyrics ^^

Small Review on Upcoming Dramas !!!

I have a very deep love for anything related to fantasy, that's why I'm an avid reader and love movies that have that slice of magic in them. Of course my love for fantasy would transfer to drama world, causing me to be, oh, so very happy at the following two teasers. I may change my mind about these dramas after I start watching them, but for now I'm hooked ^^

King 2 Hearts
Lead Actors: Ha Ji Won & Lee Sung Gi
Air Date: March 14
Story Line: The story is told in our current times with the twist of a still reigning Korean monarchy. The soon to be King (Lee Sung Gi) and a N. Korean spy (Ha Ji Won) are set for marriage in order to create peace. Of course marriage does not always equate to love.
Thoughts: I hope Ha Ji Won gets a really bad ass character here, and I love that Seung Gi seems to portray manliness instead of his usual boy next door look.

Rooftop Prince
Lead Actors: Yoochun & Han Ji Min
Air Date: March 14
Story Line: A King who loses his first love is transported to the future (of course with his royal entourage), where he meets a women who is identical to his dead lover.
Thoughts: The fun of this drama will fall on how Yoochun's character reacts to this world where the monarchy is  gone and he is a nobody. In the teaser we can already see a hint of this in the elevator scene.

Fashion King
Lead Actors: Yoo Ah In, Shin Se Kyung, Yuri (SNSD), and Lee Je Hoon
Air Date: March 19
Story Line: A story about aspiring fashion designers and the typical "reaching the top" theme.
Thoughts: I'm also somewhat stocked for Fashion King, although I am not very fond of the story line. The lead actors look so good together. Not to mention that the male lead is Yoo Ah In. I love the guy. So I'll have to give that a chance as well.

Love Rain
Lead Actors: Jang Geun Suk & Yoona (SNSD)
Air Date: March 26
Story Line: A drama that tells the story of two couples simultaneously, one in the 1970's and the other at present times. The couple in the 70's are actually the respective parents of the couple in present times, but their love is not meant to be. Therefore the story focuses on their kids and how they meet and also fall in love. The old couple and the new couple are played by Yoona, and Geun Suk.
Thoughts: This drama seems like it will be a tearjerker and I'm not really into those things.Anyway, the main couple seems to have good chemistry and it will be interesting to watch.

CHALLENGE2: Day 8: A k-pop song you know all the words to

Hmmm ... I'm bad with lyrics of K-pop songs because it's hard to remembers something that just doesn't register as a word in your mind. Of course, just throw any k-pop song at me and I'll probably know the chorus no matter the language it's in, but seriously I don't know the lyrics to the whole song !!!

Therefore, even though I don't listen to J-pop often, I find it much more easier to follow, since I know Spanish and I've noticed the pronunciation of the language is similar. Therefore I'll post a J-pop song by a K-pop artist that I can almost sing completely.

My ultimate Girl Group bias is Seohyun from SNSD !!!

I rarely talk about her but she is one of my favorite people in k-pop.

She is smart, interesting, beautiful, and an all rounder.

I specially like her personality and that beautiful voice of hers ^^

SM Orchestra: The Sound of Hallyu Wave

Like I've mentioned before I've been gone and trying to catch up with the K-pop world (today I went trough 30 pages in allkpop :0).

Anyway I missed the year end shows and have watched just a few performances (since i was more interested int he WGM special :P).

Although, I haven't watched much I was very impressed by SMTown's performance at the KBS Gayo Daejun, and would like to share it with you guys, although all of you have probably already seen it.



Henry: I Love You <3 I'm glad he was allowed to perform in Korea for a change.
Jungmo: He is always so Hot when performing !!!
Changmin and Taeyeon : WoW epic voices.
Victoria: This is the sort of dance she was made for, she looks so graceful.
Siwon: Love this drummer.
Seohyun: She looks so graceful on the piano.

I was reading that Yuri, SNSD, was offered the main female role for the drama "Fashion King", and I just wanted to convey my thoughts on it.

Yuri, accept it, come on it's Yoo Ah In!!! The guy is perfect, just accept it !!!

Just Kidding, but anyway I really do hope that Yuri accepts this role. On the other hand I fear that SM will not allow it because "Fashion King" is set to air as a competition to "Love Rain", Yoona's drama. I'm not really excited about "Love Rain", probably because I dislike sad dramas and Yoona's drama just seems to have this very sad aspect to it. Plus I prefer Yoo Ah In to Jang Geun Suk (Although Many Disagree LOL) ... ^^

FAVORITE : SONG

My favorite SNSD song is no other than "Let it Rain", from their first Japanese album. I love this song and it's one of the most played tracks on my i-pod.

FAVORITE: MV

Choosing a favorite MV was hard, and I was tempted to be biased and choose Gee because of Minho but I won't :P Rather I will choose the MV of their promotional song "Chocolate Love" , because it is one of my only favorite songs by SNSD that actually has an MV... well that and "Into the New World."

FAVORITE: LIVE

My favorite live by SNSD is that of "The Great Escape" because the choreography is different from the typical SNSD choreography, it is quite fierce in a subtle way, and it is really entertaining to watch because the it is not repetitive. May I add that I prefer the Japanese music SNSD has produced compared to most of their Korean work.

Although, like I mentioned previously, I am not a fan of THE BOYS, I have to say the MV was very nice. The beginning scenes with the slow motion and the formal dresses, as well as the flying dove, where beautiful. Also the actual dance and outfits for the song where fierce and sexy.

Of course, like always, some members shown more than the rest, and I don't know if it's because Seohyun is my favorite member, but I think her talents where showcased in this MV perfectly. She belted out some great notes, although Taeyeon was not left behind at the 3:15 minute mark. Those two where the ones that allowed me partly enjoy the song.

For all those fellow Seo lovers here are Seohyuns cut's in the MV enjoy. I could listen to this on replay ^^

SNSD "The Boys" Comeback (PART 1: The Album)

I might be a little late to address this comeback but I decided to wait to listen to the whole album before voicing my opinion.

Anyway, let's talk SNSD.

First of all THE BOYS was not that good of a song to be a tittle song. There are other songs on the album that I did love. Although I have to mention that I like THE BOYS in Korean, because it has a nicer flow, than its English counterpart. What really kills THE BOYS is actually the awkward placement and sound of the chorus. SNSD songs are iconic for the catchy choruses, but this was not befitting to continue the legacy of Gee, and Genie.

I would have preferred another track from the album to be the tittle song. I think OSCAR, which reminds me so much of TVXQ's  Mirotic at the beginning because the of the sexy beat and of BoA's Eat you Up, would have done better. The chorus is also pretty catchy. maybe it's to similar to the above mentioned?

Another song that I would have loved to see performed is TOP SECRET, because it seems like It could befit a very good concept. Furthermore it is really likable, although it might not be catchy in off to make a hit.



I also found SAY YES a very cute song, if not title track material. It has an old fashion chic flick sound track feel (or something like that?) ^^ Same goes for LAZY GIRL.





HOW GREAT IS YOUR LOVE is also a very good ballad that people should listen too.



Overall I think the album is good, what do you guys think ?

About the English version of the teaser, and song clip:::::

I have just been asking myself this about the English teaser:
"Why (if this song was written by someone who is american, and written in English) does the chorus sound so awkward?"

In the 30 sec preview, as a native English speaker I'm a little confused as to what the girls are actually saying, because of their accents. I guess the lyrics aren't bad once you read them.

About the accents I am looking foreword to Jessica, Tiffany, and even the perfect maknae Seohyun, to make the song justice. It's not that the others have bad voices, since the first to sing in the teaser is Taeyeon the main vocal, but the song just sounds a tad bit weird. Yoona also sounds good.

If the disk is sold in a store near me I will probably buy it because they are SNSD after all, but I'm still not sure if I will like it, let's see whats to come ^^ Let's hope for the best.

About the Korean version of the teaser:::::

I really liked the dance and the song, because it reminds me of a mix between Super Junior, f(x), and the old SNSD. Those girls that could kick ass with their dancing in "Into the New World" and "Girl's Generation."

The lyrics, although I'm not sure as to their meaning, sound very smooth in Korean, Thank God.

I'm actually excited for their Korean Comeback!!! YAY !!!

Super Junior Super Funny: Oops!

I finally gave myself the time to listen and read the lyrics for Super Junior's and F(x)'s collaboration "Oops !", and I had to share it with all our readers !!!

The lyrics of this song are so ridiculous and make me lough non stop!!! Specially the final rap by Heechul where he talks about clingy girls and glamorous girls, and Shindong goes "Hyung but You're really not Joking!" For all of those who are familiar with SuJu you will find allusions to Siwon, Donghae, Heechul's military duty, and Eunhyuks relation to monkeys, ^^ Let's not forget their constant mention of Pinochio and Mr.Simple  !!!
